Adorable Baby Headbands for CHEAP!

 I am a sucker for cute headbands and all things baby! But I can't afford everything I see. I recently found the JACKPOT of Baby clips and headbands on Amazon.

One of the first tips I got for baby headbands was to buy headbands and flower or bow clips separately, so that as your baby's head grows you can still use all the flowers and bow clips you bought, and switch to larger headbands. I've really liked the flexibility, and also had fun with using multiple flower clips together, especially white or cream with a colored one.

Now, I am a sucker for the cute hairclip and headband sets where you get 3 for $8 or 5 for $10. It sounds like a pretty decent deal.... But, I recently learned that you can buy a large package of these flower clips, essentially getting them for $0.54 cents a clip! I bought these same types of flowers 3 for $5 at Target. (At this price, that would have been like $1.60).

It's one of the best-kept secrets of Amazon, I swear.

I like that it comes with two of each color, in case you have two little girls or if you want to use the clips with piggy tails or if you want to clip several together.

Or you can use bows, which sometimes go better with their outfits and are more cute casual. Now, this deal is INSANE! 40 little bows for $9.99.

And then for headbands, I got these kind. For $7.49 you get 21 colored bands. The only one I wouldn't use a ton is the dark brown (personally) so this is a steal.

But I'm also a huge fan of the DIY panty-hose headbands. Babies don't seem to feel them, so these are a great option if your baby is bothered by wearing headbands. See this video for how to cut panty hose (nylons) into little headbands.

If you don't have old panty hose to use for this, you can get 4 pairs here pretty cheap, and make about 12-15 headbands per stocking, so you'd have a ton for $7. I like to make extras to give to my friends at baby showers. People love them because they are hand-made, and it doesn't take me long to do.

  Jayden recently had his first dentist appointment. We were concerned about his two front teeth because it looked like the enamel didn't form directly. Christmas like Laura Ingalls Wilder

  We recently borrowed a book from the library about Christmas time with Laura Ingalls Wilder. I read some of those books growing up, at a higher reading level, but we found this shorter children’s book adapted from the originals. It showed pictures and told stories of the kinds of simple pleasures the family enjoyed during Christmas time.  The children loved making treats with their mom. She would heat hot sugar and molasses, and pour it in twisty shapes over a pan of snow, allowing the candy to quickly harden. Kasdyn was mesmerized with this idea and asked to make them for Christmas. She did point out that their mom makes more treats than I do! Well, we’ll see when we get closer to Christmas… But my big take-away each time I read it is their stockings. Their simple, real stockings hung on the mantle were filled with one peppermint stick, a pair of likely-homemade red mittens, and Laura got a rag doll with button eyes. Poppy Seed Muffins

  One thing I love about Kasdyn is that she doesn’t stop and think that we can’t do something. Nothing is impossible in her mind. She woke up yesterday and wanted to make poppy seed muffins. It never occurred to her the possibility that we wouldn’t have ingredients like poppy seeds, or that we don’t know how… she just likes poppy seed muffins so we went to the store, bought ingredients, and we learned how to make poppy seed muffins together. (They really aren’t hard, but this was my first time!) We tried this great, simple Costco Copycat Poppy Seed Muffins recipe and they turned out great! Seeing as these are my kids favorite kind of muffins, I think we’ll be repeating this recipe. My other favorite is Krusteaz blueberry muffin mix that comes with a can of blueberries.
